Major Creek Cellars is a new winery in the Columbia River Gorge American Viticultural Area, or AVA. Our focus is on red wines and rose' wines of Washington and Oregon.

We have searched out the best vineyards after evaluating the flavors, the terrior, the management style and the commitment to producing the finest grapes. Our goal is to find those growers who match our goal of producing the best wine considering grape quality, location, climate, and patience, patience, patience. A commitment to studying, experimenting, learning and ensuring the result is about the fruit comes first.

Listed to the right are our wines. Please check back to see what is available as we are bottling and releasing wines throughout the year.

Parties interested in visiting the winery are invited to contact us. We also do wine tasting by appointment in Washington and Oregon.

There is still time this summer for some refreshing 2007 rose' wines. Waterfall is our name for rose of Syrah - a fruity full flavored rose. Cascade is the name for our rose of Pinot Noir - a more delicate floral rose. Both are great in the warm dog days of summer. Limited quantities. Available only from the winery directly.

2005 Oregon Pinot Noir

Yamhill Carlton District AVA

This popular Pinot Noir is made from select Dijon, Pommard and Wadensville clones. The vineyard is situated at 450-600 feet and the vines are up to 30 years old making this an excellent Oregon Pinot. Fruity, balanced, with a hint of oak and spice.

2004 Oregon Grenache
Rogue Valley AVA
Del Rio Vineyards

This medium bodied wine is with grapes from this renowned southern Oregon vineyard where long summers ripen the grapes well. We added 10% Syrah to the cuvee for body and color.

Interestingly, this wine began fermentation during a total lunar eclipse in 2004. Take a walk on the wild side with this Grenache blend.

Red fruit with lots of white pepper on top of light tannins make for a enjoyable wine that goes with lamb, steak, poultry and mildly spice dishes. 46 cases made.

2005 Washington State Syrah
Wahluke Slope AVA
Pheasant Vineyard

Blackraspberry, and chocolate flavors predominate. A blend of old and new world styles, this wine was aged in neutral oak barrels to avoid any oak flavor. This washington syrah has 4% Grenache added for spice.

This is 100% Cabernet Franc from an emerging vineyard in the eastern Columbia River Gorge. Made from 6 year old vines at perfect ripeness, the wine is structured. aromatic with distinctive raspberry notes underlayed by oak.

2006 Washington State Syrah
